Offers and winning cars

High Score, Speed Run and the Combo

Every offer is ranked by amount and by pickup time, so you can win a car on price or on speed.

Every offer on BeaterBoss has two parts: the amount, and the earliest time the buyer can pick the car up. We rank the offers both ways, so a buyer who can come this afternoon has a real chance against one who pays more tomorrow. An instant offer’s time is your first open time after the notice you need, both set under Pickup times on Your profile, and you can pick an earlier open time on any car by hand.

The two lanes

High Score ranks the offers by amount, biggest first. Speed Run ranks them by pickup time, soonest first. When two buyers can come at the same time, the higher offer goes first. When the amounts match too, the offer that got to that amount first is ahead.

The Combo is the best-paying offer that makes the top three of both lanes. There is a Combo only when a car has more than three offers, because with three or fewer every offer is in the top three of both, and only when one of the three biggest offers is also among the three soonest.

Buyers B and C are in the top three of both lanes. B pays more, so B is the Combo. On the seller's page, A is marked Top, C is marked Fastest and B is marked Best of both. D and F are in neither top three, though the seller can still see and choose them.

What the seller sees

The seller never sees the lane names. Their page shows the biggest offer in a big card at the top, then every offer in a list. Once there are two or more offers, the soonest pickup also gets a band under the big card, and the list marks the first in High Score as Top, the first in Speed Run as Fastest and the Combo as Best of both.

Which order the seller sees first

When sellers list a car we ask when they need it gone, and they can skip the question. If they say today, their list starts with the soonest pickups. If they say this week or there’s no rush, or they skip it, it starts with the biggest offers. Sellers can change their answer on their page later, and they can sort the list either way. You see the answer on the car’s page, and a car that needs to go today is a good one to offer an early time on.

The seller can still choose anyone

The lanes and the marks only point offers out. They are not a rule about who wins, and the seller can pick any offer on their page.
