- File a release of liability within 5 days of handing over the car. It costs $3.50 and you can file it online.
- Lost the title? The Idaho DMV charges $14 for a duplicate.
- Federal law: if your car is a 2011 or newer, write the mileage on the title when you sign it. A 2010 or older car is exempt.
